Someone not wanting to adopt a child because they're not cute or pretty enough is, to me, the ultimate example of everything that is wrong in American society.

Placing the most value on the least meaningful things, living only to please others, allowing insecurity and fear to control a life...

It's these things that make me travel-- to far away countries where people that think these things are the wild exception, not the norm!!

Manatees are so cute.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The average person is not a supermodel , which is good, as it would be so boring.
I wonder how one can help a child to stay confident. All these shows about eating disorders worry me so much.

That manatee baby in the photo is ADORABLE!

The eye of the beholder makes the difference. My husband thought ALL babies are ugly, until he met Sam and Cj. Either they are the most beautiful children ever to hit the planet, or he has a bit of bias.

Thanks for the link to that old post. I'd forgotten it. I loved the graphic!
