This week is " My Favorite Things" week. There are so many Toddler toys on the market. In my opinion simple is better when it comes to toddlers. Have you ever noticed how they seem to love the silliest simple stuff.I just hate all those batteries required toys that just make noise. I do have a few battery-required toys on my list. These are some of my Toddlers favorite things to play with. Do you have any "Must have toys" that I am missing? What is the silliest thing your toddler loved to play with? My daughter loves my shoes.

Easy Grip wooden Peg puzzles by Melissa & Doug- Pictures under the pieces make these ideal for toddlers. I just love these puzzles.

Basic wooden alphabet blocks- for stacking , clapping together or chewing on. A Must have

Plastic Stacking Cups- these continue to be a favorite of my daughters. Another must have.. great for nesting, sorting, counting, colors. This is the actual set my husband purchased in Russia. We lost a few on our delta flight.

Wooden lacing beads- by Melissa & Doug- supervision is a must with these as they pose a choking hazard but they are great for eye hand coordination. A cheap stand in is using cheerios and a clean new shoelace or yarn. I like the shoelace as it has the hard plastic around the end for easy threading. You can then allow your child to eat the cereal off the necklace. Or you can use old spools or uncooked rigatoni for a craft

Leap Frog Discovery Ball- My daughter loves this Toy and learned to find, say and recognize the first letter in her name. She got this as a gift from a teacher friend of ours. It really is a great learning toy.

Leap Frog Hug & Learn Globe- soft and cuddly

Simple baby doll with bottle- my daughter has a newborn cabbage patch doll with a bottle attached with a short string. She loves nurturing and feeding her baby.

Baby Stroller- great for a new walker, doubles as a push, pull toy, encourages coordination, backing out of corners.

Fisher Price shape sorter

Fisher price xylophone

Sandbox- or Sand/water table

My kitchen stuff- I pull out some Tupperware, big plastic bowls, wooden spoons, measuring cups and Livi has a blast.

Mommy stuff- an old purse, an old compact with mirror, a pair of Mommy’s shoes, a long necklace, hats, and an old set of keys…. All of these make for a fun afternoon of dress up & pretend play.

K loves Megablocks and will stack up a tower as high as she can and then watch it fall. Good post, I'll check some of your other ideas out.

I think I am going to have to get the Leap Frog Discovery Ball and some of those peg puzzles. There are so many toys and I just don't know what little girls that age would like to play with. Thanks for the ideas!

The silliest thing my kids played with... hmmmmmm. I am not sure one thing stands out.

The toy that does come to mind is Little People, not that they are silly but the fact that my 8 year old, very BOY BOY son Still plays with them on rare occasions.
