I have blog envy. I didn't even know such a thing existed, until I started following all of the exceptional writing here at AdoptionBlogs. I've discovered that my particular blog style is very linear, and some would say, concrete. I think it. I write it. I post it. But, I am challenging myself to grow and stretch. I have been practicing how to use new and different features over on
my parenting blog and now I'm ready to try to fly my wings here. I still have a long way to go though to "run with the big dawgs" like Nancy, Bill, Moose and all the others who make me absolutely green with envy. Ha. But, I'll figure it out. Who knows, I might even learn how to add sound loops to my posts, then watch out! That should really be fun since my musical taste runs the gamut from R&B, to Hip-Hop, to Classical, to Country.
Anyway, one of the reasons I've been so hesistant to post resources (besides being technologically challenged) is because I want to be able to vouch for the usefullness of what I'm sharing. But, after discussing this sentiment with a friend she pointed out that I was being patronizing and that my readers could fend for themselves in terms of what is useful and what is not. Touche'. I also was shooting for the warm-fuzzy, let's do this all together approach. That may come, but, right now I need to step out and take the lead.
So,
here is my first effort at including a link in my post and I'm quite proud. I stumbled upon this article on the history of legal adoption in the United States and became completely engrossed. I actually read the entire thing, and will read through it several more times. It is very very long and very dense reading, so I suggest that you approach it in much the same way you would eat an elephant, one bite at a time.
That's all I can manage today. I've already lost this post TWICE trying to pull this off with several other links I wanted to add. I also tried to add some cutesy photos from a clipart file, but that was a disaster. So, I'll leave well enough alone and try again tomorrow with links
and photos. Woo-Hoo. Then, look out blogosphere, block quotes can't be far behind.
