I'm feeling the need to lighten up the tone of things here on my blog. At least for the time being. All of my topics lately have been so serious. I'm all for keepin' it real and writing honestly and facing reality, blah. blah. blah. But my goodness, after a while, I would think all that emoting and processing would get to be a bit much. Heck it could be enough to make people wonder if adoption is even worth the ap
parent headache that it can bring! Ha.
Apparent. I slay me. I'm on a roll now.
Several months ago, I wrote a piece on
my parenting blog called The Real Mother Debut. I love that post. Every time I read it I smile and it makes me feel good inside. If you want a warm-fuzzy then drop by to read it when you have the chance. Also, be sure to check out some of the links right
here at Adoption.Com. You can find lullabies and poems and screensavers, scrapbooking, journaling. Neat stuff. Fun stuff.

Here's a joke that my son made up. It doesn't have anything to do with adoptive parenting, but, it's a parent-child joke.
Question: "What did the mommy tomato say to the baby tomato when he was moving too slow?"
Answer: "Come on, KETCH-Up!" ba-da-boom. ba-da-bing.
Here's a knock-knock joke my youngest daughter made up when she was about six.
The set up: A baby bee and a mother bee.
Knock-Knock.
Who's there.
Ima Bee.
Ima Bee who?
Ima Bee your Ba-Bee forever!
Ha. Get it? Isn't that the best? From my six year old no less! She's eight now and sometimes she will still come up to me and tell that joke, always like it's a first-run. I always laugh. I always feel good, like it's the first time I heard it.
I wouldn't want any of my readers to get the impression that my life as an adoptive parent is one long non-stop journey of angst ridden reflection, introspection, and psychobabble processing about the what, the why and the how of adopting. Sometimes it's just plain fun.
So. Let's have a party and put the fun back into the adoptive parenting experience! Woo-hoo!
