While surfing the internet on the desperate hunt for useful resources for my readers I came upon
this site. Ta-da! I felt as if I had struck gold. There is so much information out there on the web, and in bookstores, and in the libraries. Most of it is useful, some of it less so. But, this particular site is an internet talk radio show just on...adoption! How neat is that? In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the most technologically savy person in the world. So, if the entire adoption world is already familiar with this site except for me, just have pity on me and allow me to enjoy my "discovery." The thought of that reminds me of the times one of my kids will come running up to me with a knock-knock joke that they believe is a first-run. I never let on otherwise. Anyway, I digress. Back to the link.
I hate to sound like a dinosaur, but, I'm just amazed by what's available through the modern miracle of technology these days. I think the method of broadcasting that this particular show, Let's Talk Adoption, utilizes is something akin to podcasting. I'm not sure about that, but, as best I can understand it, that's how the shows on the different topics are delivered. Therefore, you can log on at any time and download (I believe that's the correct term) any show of interest. Or, you can log on at the time a specific show is set to "air" and you can catch it "live" via the internet.
I took the time to listen to a couple of the shows that are listed in the archives and I found them to be very educational and informative. I really liked two of them: "The Family of Adoption: A Lifelong Process" and "Post-Adoption Blues." I wish I had seen this when I did the post on Adoption Remorse, because I think it would have been an excellent link for that post.
Nevertheless, please check this site out. I think it is a really good resource. Let me know what you think as well.
