The Birthday Party went off without a hitch. Our friends & Family came to help us make our daughters first birthday home a memorable one. The doll cake was a breeze to make. I loved every minute of planning & throwing her party. I have three nieces, three nephews and two great nieces and I have been to many a birthday party over the years. It was nice to finally be the other end. I’m the Mom now. I was the one passing out the cake & goody bags. The best part of yesterday was seeing My Mom & Livi together. My Mom is a softy…..I see her melt with Liv.

She is quiet and sensitive. I have acquired these traits from her as well. In watching my Mom interact with my daughter, I see a side of her I forgot about long ago. I’m taken back to a time when I was 3 or 4 and I wanted to be just like my Mom. She was so tall, beautiful and had these long elegant hands that I still admire as I type with my short stubby digits. I was a Mama’s girl, I would play dress up in her scarves & gloves and long strands of necklaces, I would sneak some of her lipstick & perfume that she only wore on special occasions. Its funny how the Mother daughter relationship evolves.

I went from adoring & worshipping her, thinking she was the bees knees, then I was moody teen and wanted nothing to do with her, I was at times a bitter & mean young adult, I blamed her, was angry, then we came full circle and I once again worship her. Im not sure she is aware of that fact but I do. She always handled my moods with grace. She has taught me many lessons That I hope to teach my daughter.Being a Mother now makes me think differently towards my own Mom. I can relate to her and the choices she made.I’m looking forward to those days when Livi worships me, and when she is being moody… well then I will have to call my Mom for advice because she has plenty of experience in dealing with moody daughters. Mom thanks for being You.
