Though I am a crafty lady, and though I have tried my hand at rubber stamping and scrapbooking, I find I need something a little quicker and lower maintenance. Thus, I tend to blog as a way of chronicling my children’s lives.

Though I blog here at AdoptionBlogs, I have a personal blog for homeschooling, as well as a family site. Blogging provides a quick way to summarize each day, or events such as trips or special days. Most blogging tools allow the posting of multiple pictures. Best of all, most sites are free or offer a free version of their premium services.... more

A recent birthday blog by Wendy brought up that some of our children have little or no information about their birth. I’d actually already been thinking about this over the last few days. I can’t recreate the birth experience for them, but maybe I can find some tidbits of information to add to their lifebooks to form some little bit of birth history for them.

Life Books: Just One Way To Tell Your Child's Story

I am a Life Book negligent adoptive mom. Or would that be Life Book challenged? Life Book disabled? I know how important the concept of a Life Book is for many adoptive families. I respect and admire those parents who are diligent about keeping a Life Book for their adopted children. I'm just not one of them. From the moment the girls were permanently placed with us, we were caught up in the actual day-to-day living with them. The business of putting together and maintaining the Life Book about our journey to becoming a family just never made it to the top of my priority list.
